Sympos new 7" ep "More Sympos" is released and available in-store today. Sympos are an aggressive Waterford punk/oi! band, with songs about local characters, boozing, fighting and skateboarding. With help from Distro-y Records, Tough Ain't Enough Records and Primator Crew, they have gifted us with this amazing four track ep. Much like their original eight track 10" ep, "More Sympos" carries the same energy and aggression. Sympos are the real deal with two powerful vocals working together and creating this form of Irish oi! that has no comparison whatsoever. The fast and catchy electric guitar riffs that progress into slow breakdowns, accompanied by a heavy bass guitar and pounding drums add a dark and looming presence that has you wanting to smash something but in a good way. When I was growing up, depending on the punk you listened to, My brother used to tell me if it makes you want to fuck someone up then it's on the right track. This ep has it all from getting fucked over by your car insurance, being frustrated at skinheads who are too scared to delve into oi!, having a laugh at the pub and just wanting to kick someone's teeth in purely because there's nothing better to be doing. All songs clearly done with a tongue and cheek sense of Humour of course. We here at Luca are massive fans of Sympos and cannot wait to see what they bring to the table next. Sympos will also be playing an in-store gig in Luca on Friday, March 17th at 9pm. This will be their first gig and they will be performing as a four piece instead of a three piece. Sympos will not hold back, now with extra man power, they are louder than ever. If you love good fast, Irish, aggressive punk do not miss this gig. Tickets are available in-store for 5 euro. Don't fuck around, get on it.
